Thanks for stopping by our new reviews page. We are attempting to get a good cross section of people and screen our films before we start to send them out and "HURT" is the first film we have done this with. In order to be fair, we have included the twenty random reviews from the 80 people we screened and here are the results. Some of them are wonderful and some are not so good but you can't please all the people all the time. We wondered whether it was a good idea to include all the reviews and we finally decided to just pull twenty and go with that. Honestly, we read two that just had to be in the mix and we put them in there because it was just something very funny. We also have included the bad reviews just because we know you are not stupid enough to believe everyone loved this film. Anyway, here is the results for "HURT".
REVIEWS:
"The film was disturbingly authentic in its feel and if I didn't know these people were actors, I'd swear it was real. Not Blair Witch real either. The stuff with the home made porno films was too real for me"
"I'm not sure if you decided to make it look like a home movie or if you wanted this look. I never had the feeling I was watching a movie. I felt like I was watching a real sick home movie for an hour and a half."
"I laughed at one scene and then realized I was laughing at a rape scene and it almost made me sick."
"I didn't really like the sound being so low at times. I couldn't hear some of the things being said and I didn't know if that was supposed to be that way or if it was just that way for a purpose."
"I totally thought this was just going to be another slasher film and it was nothing like that at all. I think it has a very honest feel to it and I see what you are trying to get across."
"I was put off by it totally. I think they made the lead characters to 'cool' and it just turned me off from the start."
"Kicked ass."
"Took me a few minutes to get into it. At first I thought it was going to be really bad and I was trying to figure out how to leave without offending the guys there who let us be a part of the test group. You should open with another scene so it hits you out of the gate instead of waiting until 15 minutes into the film. After the 15 minutes was up though, I was hooked."
"Serial Killer films are way too overdone and this one is no exception. I enjoyed watching the people more than the film. Although the part where Michael asks the girl if he 'hurt her' after raping her and then getting mad and exclaiming 'we just made love' did really get my attention. I suppose the film was worth watching just for that scene."
"Bad movie all the way. It looked cheaply done and was far beneath what Scott and Sorry Dog did in their last film 'Seven To Midnight'. I think the love story I watched in Charleston was much better than this film. Stick with Love stories Sorry Dog and quit with the horror. No need to show all the bare chests and all the violence."
"Greg Mason was the reason I wanted to see this film and he was nothing short of wonderful in it. One demented soul."
"I heard someone whispering that one of the actors was a real life killer? Is this true?"
"Scott Martin and Sorry Dog Productions have done themselves a very fine film and the look of old home movies really does work for this film."
"At the end of the film I think the credits were a bit off and too small for me to read."
"This is one of those films that people will talk about long after the film is over and the people have went home. My husband and I were asked to screen the film and I'm sure we both will talk about this and the meanings behind some of the scenes for a very long time. Reality television is hopefully never headed this way but the way the cast talked to the camera when they were doing the 'basement videos' was really sick and twisted and to be honest, very, very, clever. I know this will not be a film for everyone but it certainly is a film for those who like independent films. I think they have a winner here."
"The popcorn was really good and I liked the drinks."
"I thought the women in this film looked real and they were just plain beautiful. The scene with Jeanie Cheek is absolutely terrifying and it gave me chills and almost made me sick."
