For more information, you can contact us at the website or at sorrydogfilms@yahoo.com and we can answer specific questions there as well. If you want to send us a headshot, please send to the yahoo account.
We are seeking very physical actors who are in good shape and can move very well with athletic builds. Please submit ASAP. Ever wanted to be in an old fashioned horror film where a group of people go out to a cabin and get killed and chased in the mountains? Well here is your chance. WE need actors.
Sorry Dog is currently in need of people with strange talents and background actors for it’s feature entitled “AA Highway”. The “AA Highway” is a thriller set in the backwoods and mountains of Virginia. We are seeking all types of performers and people willing to spend a night with us working in the cold month of November here in West Virginia. We are shooting at night only and we need people who can give us at least an entire night or their time. When we say strange talents, we mean strange talents. Perhaps you have a strange look or can perform a strange character. We are looking for things out of the ordinary for this film. We are also looking for people willing to work as Production Assistants and just being able to work for a day is OK there as well. Although being able to work the entire shoot is preferred. More information can be obtained by e-mailing us. Everyone always says they want to be involved in the movies, well here’s your chance.
Re-enactors sought for WV / VA film in March:
For those of you interested in working as a reenact or in a WV / VA film this March here is some information. We are a small independent film company based out of WV and Chicago. We are doing a film that starts in the Civil War era and does a time jump to present day. We are seeking people for a three day shoot that have all their own equipment and people who are willing to work for deferred pay. All who work will get a credit in the film and a copy of the finished film. This will be the third feature film for Sorry Dog Films and this particular piece of the film will be shot very tight and all the re-enactors working will get great coverage on camera. We are looking to set our scenes with materials that the re- enactors have. We are specifically looking for someone to coordinate the scenes as well as serving as a technical advisor. We need everything from the tents to the horses. We'll provide the steam engine, the land and the food. We are seeking at least 10 characters that will have lines in the film as well as 3 younger men who can pass for age 17 and act and look the part of youngsters wanting to join up.
Those interested may send materials to Sorry Dog Films c/o Jim Meredith, 120 Fredrick Court, Princeton WV 24740. Those interested in speaking roles will need to audition in person or via videotape. Those interested in background work only will need only submit a photo in Civil war dress whether it be uniform or civilian clothing. All that send in materials will be contacted and keep in mind that even the background actors in this shoot will be seen. For more information you may also call (304) 425-8013. We aren't a big studio and we're not trying to pass ourselves off as one. We understand the ability to pull off this part of the film depends on those willing to work for us for free. We've actually heard of other films where the re-enactors were treated terrible and then on the same hand heard where they were treated like royalty. I imagine we will be somewhere in the middle because we don't have the budget to roll out the red carpet.
Film Summary:
During the Civil War, three young men from western VA decide to "join up" and fight for the cause. Through a series of strange events, they end up with a kings ransom after their train is derailed by three would be thieves. They bury the treasure and make a blood oath that they would all return after the war and split the find. None of the boys ever make it home. Instead, a single letter from the death bed of the last boy makes it's way to the love of his life. Many years later, three men find the hidden treasure in a modern day treasure hunt and the adventure begins. The ! three men are tested both mentally and physically and what seemed like a great way to spend a weekend, ends up as a life changing event.

THE ALDERSON MILE (Click Title to view still shots)
"THE CAR LOT"
Short film taking place at a car lot. Specifically we are looking for a Blonde female ages 25 to 35 with long legs and the body to go with it. We are trying to find as close to a perfect 10 as we can on this one. If you are tall, blonde and built, we are looking for you. Must be comfortable with a very short skirt. This is far from being a “dumb blonde” short film. The woman is very sophisticated and very attractive and she knows how to use the gifts she’s been given. We are also seeking two males to play salesmen as well. Our first male is in his early 50’s and the other is in his late 20’s. Our males should look like used car salesmen. If interested in auditioning for any of these roles, send a headshot and resume asap. We will shoot for two days on this project and we need a two day commitment from all the players.
"THE GRAVE" Short film where we need a small group to play a family. Our first actor we are looking for is Thomas. Thomas is a thirty something year old convict. We are looking for a male with tattoos and scars and someone who can look like a real tough guy. We are also looking for the father who goes by the name of Lenny. Lenny is in his late 50’s to early 60’s and is a very easy going man. Lenny always did right by his son but something just went wrong and now Lenny is forced to have a relationship with his son via the phone on a once a month call.
"RESOLUTION" We shot “Resolution” in two days shooting in Island Lake Illinois. Our main cast consisted of Scott Martin and Doug Pfeifer. The film is about a ghost that appears to be haunting a liquor store. Through a series of encounters with the ghost who has no name, the clerk has quite the strange New Years Eve in his liquor store. On top of it all, it seems that everybody who enters the store seems to look like some famous person right down to the last customer who looks like Mel Gibson played by Ed Pfeifer. Ed is also seen as the man in Payback (with Mel Gibson) at the beginning of the film where the character “Carter” picks his pocket. Running time is 12 minutes with music being supplied by the group “Trendy” from Illinois.
